Day 1 Stung Treng – Rattanakiri (Banlung)
Pick up at your hotel and transfer by boat (3 hrs) to Banlung, capital of Ratanakiri, nicknamed "the red city" because of the omnipresent red soil. Check in at hotel followed by lunch.
In the afternoon, departure to visit the surrounding waterfalls. Teuk Cha Ong is the most impressive of them. Then trip to the Yeak Laom Lake in its extinct volcano and time enjoy a swim and the beauty of that place surrounded by the jungle.
Dinner and overnight in Banlung.
Day 2 The Kroeung territory
Drive to the north, direction Laos to the village of Taveng. First cross the curious extent of volcanic rocks of Veyrum Pl?ng: a lava field in the forest with a small waterfall nearby (only in the wet season though) and what locals call tiger caves. As we go north to Taveng, we cross different types of landscapes: primary forest, clear forest, bamboo forest and bush. Stop at a few nice Kroeung villages located quite far away in the forest. The right time to see them is usually from February to August. Lunch at small waterfall lost in the forest.
Back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 The Jarai territory
Drive far eastward, towards the Vietnamese border. Stop in some Tampoun villages and observe the tribal customs as well as tempt to bargain some traditional handicrafts as baskets, pipes, gourds, machetes… Cross rubber trees, cashew nut or coffee plantations, then stop at the village of Bokeo. Then back up towards Andong Meas (the gold well) to reach the superb Se San River and to have a ride to the discovery of some Jarai villages and their cemetery.
Back to hotel for dinner and accommodation.
Day 4 Banlung - Phnom Penh
Shopping at the Banlung market before the flight to Phnom Penh in the late morning.
Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel.
