Day 1 Arrive VientaineArrive in Vientaine, the paceful capital of the people's Democratic Republic of Laos. After transfering to the hotel there is time for an afternoon city tour of Vientaine's most famous sights, including the famous Wat Sisaket, with its thousand of Miniature Buddha statues, Wat Prakeo, Wat Simuang, the Pha That Luang monument
Day 2 Vientaine - Luang PrabangTransfer to Wattay Airport for the morning flight to Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of the Laos Kingdom, is listed by the UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site". Tour the Royal Palace and Museum, Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Sen and the lovely Wat Vixoun, then walk up the paths of nearby Mount Phousi. The view of dozens of temple rooftops dotting this quite city nestled around the river is not to be missed.
Day 3 Luang Prabang - Pak ou - Luang PrabangA full day boat trip on the mighty Mekong river to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. Thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues are crammed into the two caves carved out of a toyouring limestone cliff. After a pinic lunch, visit a rivrside village where rice wine is produced and the village of Ban Phanom, where traditional Lao textiles are woven on acient wooden looms.
Day 4 Luang Prabang - Ha NoiAfter breakfast visit the Luangprabang market before transfer to the airport for the flight to Ha Noi. Upon arrival met by Salute Vietnam representatative and transferred to hotel. Enjoy a water puppet show in the evening.
Day 5 Ha NoiA full day city tour of Viet Nam's capital. Ha Noi is a city of lake, shaded bouleveards, verdant public parks and French colonia architecture. The city tour includes such sight as Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, the one pillar pagoda, historic museum, the temple of literature, the lake of Restored Sword and Old quater.
Day 6 Ha Noi - Ha Long - SapaEnjoy the 170km journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Ha Long. A cruise in a private junk on the emerald green waters among the 3,000 spectacular limestone isldans starts with fresh seafood lunch on board. Return to Ha Noi by road in the late afternoon with stop at Dong Trieu ceramic village famous for ceramic products, and see how villagers make their beautiful wares in traditional ways. Upon arrival in Ha Noi you spend time for dinner before getting the overnight train to Sa Pa hillstation. Overnight on board the train.
Day 7 SapaThis morning we are picked up at Lao Cai railways station then driving 40km mountain road to Sapa hillstation. After hotel breakfast we spend the whole day visit Sa Pa, enjoy the bustling market filled with hill tribe people gathered from different parts of the region to sell their produce. We then climb Ham Rong Mountain to view the magnificent panorama of the town from beneath the clouds, followed by a leisurely walk through some Hamlets of Man people before visiting Cat Cat waterfall and other scenic spots.
Day 8 Sapa - Ha NoiToday we take a short drive to Thac Bac waterfall, walking up the mountain for a panorama of nature. We then continue our exploration by trekking deeper into this mountainous territory to experience the living style of the H'Mong and Red Dzao people in Ta Van village, admiring the green valleys and impressive scenery before returning to Lao Cai railway station for our train back to Hanoi. Overnight on board the train.
Day 9 Ha Noi - HueUpon arrival in Ha Noi railway station we are picking up then transfer to local restaurant for breakfast. A free morning to relax or further explore this historical city before transferring to Noi Bai airport for the flight to Hue. Hue is the former imperial capital of Vietnam from where the Nguyen Dynasty of emperors ruled from 1802 till 1945. Take a boat trip on the romantically named Perfurme River visit Hue's best known religious site, Thien Mu pagoda and the mausoleum of former emperor Ming Mang, in a tranquil setting of gardens and lake. In the evening a chance to dress up in period costume for one of the highlights of Hue, the Royal dinner.
Day 10 Hue - Da Nang - Hoi AnWe visit Forbidden Citadel before take a journey over the spectacular Ocean Clouds pass takes you to Da Nang, known under the Freach as Tourance, Viet Nam's fourth-lagest city. Visit China Beach, once famous as a beach resort for resting US soldiers and the Cham Museum containing the finest collection of Cham sculpture in the world. Continue to Hoi An stopping to visit the Marble Moutain enroute. Free to explore further afield by bicycle, relax on a nearby beach or retire to a quiet cafe.
Day 11 Hoi An - Da Nang - Sai GonHoi An was a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries and its architecture and relaxed lifestyle has change little over the years. Take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit former merchants's houses, the 200 years old Japanese Covered Brigde and the colourful market. We then fly to frenetic Sai Gon the largest of Viet Nam's cities, known as the Pearl of the East in the 1960s. Time for relaxing. For those who like discovering, Saigon by night must has something to discover.
Day 12 Sai Gon city tour - Cu ChiThis morning we engulfed in the bustling atmosphere of Sai Gon, walk its streets, visiting the markets, pagodas and some landmarks such as the site of the former US Embassy, Refunication Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historical museum and the Chinatown of Cho Lon as well as the Thien Hau Pagoda. In the afternoon visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, an intricate underground network utilised with great effect by the Viet Cong during the war.
Day 13 Sai Gon - Mekong DeltaA full day is spent exploring the bustling region of the Mekong Delta. A visit to My Tho is followed by an afternoon boat cruise along narrow waterways overhung with dense vegetation and try exotic fruits in one of the many tropical orchards, and a chance to enjoy the hospitality of the locals before returning to Sai Gon. A special Vietnamese fairwell party will wait for us at one of the most famous restaurant in this commerical city.
Day 14 Sai Gon - SiemreapTransfer to airport after breakfast for the morning flight to Siem Reap. Siem Reap is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Kh'mer empire. A tour of the temples including the magnificent 12th Angkok Wat, the South Gate of Angkok Thom and the famous Bayon. The day ends with a spectacular sunset at the top of Phnom Bakheng hill.
Day 15 SiemreapA second day to explore the wonderous ancient ruins including the fablous Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig tress and gigantic creepers. Other temples in the area includes Ta Keo, Chau Say Tevoda, Thammanon, Bantey Kdei and Srah Srang.
Day 16 Dep SiemreapDay free until your transfer to the airport for your flight out.
