Tour description:
Vientian is only 20km fromthe
Thai border, but has a completely different feel to Thailand. It is a
lot less developed, and quieter. The population of Laos is only
6,000,000. Situated on the Mekong river, the city has a large French
expat community (It was a french colony until the 70s) as well as many
foreign aid workers. It is difficult to believe it is a capital
city..you can see goats happily grazing by the side of the road, and
cockerels wake you in the morning.
